About

Rachel graduated from Birmingham City University with a First class honours in Visual Communication, specialising in illustration.

She enjoys creating work through the process of crossing mark making, digital processes and experimental collage. Her work has been broad from music illustration including designing West End actor Hadley Fraser's debut album cover, to boyswear t-shirt design.

She is currently focusing her work on contemporary children's book illustration as she loves to tell stories, visualise characters and experiment with media. Her first picture book with Julie Fulton - Bears Don't Eat Egg Sandwiches was published in November 2017, which was featured in Julie Andrews’ podcast ‘Julie’s Library’ in 2020.

Rachel illustrated Rochelle Hume's first picture books The Mega Magic Hair Swap (2019) and The Mega Magic Teacher Swap (2020) and has worked with Rochelle on designing her My Little Coco range for Boots.

In 2022 she joined forces again with Rochelle on My Little Dragon for Puffin books which will be published in October 2022.

Rachel is proud to be an illustrator for Emily Coxhead’s ‘The Happy Newspaper’.
